GVA YouTube Channel

The official Youtube channel for the Greater Victoria Area is operated by the youth in the area. The focus of the channel is to show what Scouting is like in the Greater Victoria Area and to have it full of fun videos. We take content submissions from any member of scouting in the GVA and every once in a while we will have contest for the videos with prizes.

Rules for submitting videos:

• Videos must be edited before being submitted
• All copyright laws must be respected – this includes music
• Youtube terms and conditions must be respected and followed
• The video must be related to scouting and all scouting regulations must be followed
• No course language
• All people that can be clearly made out in the video must give permission for their image to be displayed online by completing the Scouts Canada Photography Release Form.

Please be aware videos may be further edited and/or modified before uploading to the channel. If we see necessary we will get you to approve the changes but it depends on the situation.

Please also be aware that submitting content does not guarantee that it will be used.

Launch Contest

To celebrate the launch of the Youtube Channel we are running a contest to get some videos up. The contest is for the best video and it can be about anything you wish as long as it is scouting related.

Here are the rules

• Videos must be submitted by the youth of your group – beavers and cubs may receive assistance from their leaders
• It must be under 1min 30secs
• It must be fully edited
• It must contain a description of the activity
• Music is permitted but not required *please browse from the Youtube selection of music*

Other than that have fun and be creative.

The prize is a surprise and is going to be something for the whole section.
Contest closes: January 31st 2012
Winner announced by mid-February
