Things to do in and around Victoria

Galiano Conversancy Association

We offer single day outdoor excursions and ecotours.

We offer trained and experienced naturalists who showcase the unique and beautiful ecosystems of our island.

The Galiano Conservancy has been hosting school classes and groups of all ages since 2001, offering a full range of interactive environmental education programs to over 22,000 people. These hand-on programs enable participants to explore the incredible biodiversity of our island's beaches, forests, meadows and wetlands. We have recently expanded our single-day field trips into multi-day "Retreats," with overnight accommodations provided either via camping at our new 188 acre property or through renting a set of cabins with one of our island partners.

We have worked extensively with the Victoria Immigrant and Refugee Centre Society over the past four years, bringing out several of their groups each year. We have found it to be extremely rewarding to work with newcomers to Canada, as even though we are only an hour away from Vancouver or Victoria via ferry, they do not often make it past the urban centres. Those who do, are blown away by what we take for granted here on Galiano. We enjoy working with program partners to adapt our programs to suit the language level and educational goals of visiting groups.

I have attached a brochure with a brief description of our programs, a few photos, and some testimonials from a few of our partners. You can find out more about our organization and education programs in general at www.galianoconservancy.ca

A Paddle in the Park Kayaking

The guide will take you to the best places to see the local wildlife and the hidden gems of nature. Is there a badge for kayaking or paddling?

We can do custom kayaking programs tailored to your particular needs. In the past we have done kayak lessons before a week of paddling around the Gulf Islands. We also have kayak instructors that can certify paddlers with the national recognized Paddle Canada kayak program.

Yours truly,
A PADDLE IN THE PARK KAYAKING
