Scouts Canada Apple Day

Apple Day is the traditional fundraising event that started right here in Canada! Through Apple Day youth receive donations from the public and present an apple in appreciation. Each Group has a designated area to canvass including neighbourhood stores and other traveled areas.

Money raised during Apple Day (as with our other fundraisers) go to improving the Scouting program through registration fee subsidies, outings, camping equipment, training and many other endeavours.

This year, Apple Day in Greater Victoria Area is Saturday, October 5th, 2013

Getting Ready for Apple Day

If you will not be coordinating Apple Day '13, please forward this message to your successor or to your group commissioner.  I would like to have name, phone #  and email address for all group coordinators.

It is never too early to get sites booked.  I expect some Thrifty Foods will get booked for us but even there, a personal visit is a good idea.  They will not need separate insurance certificates-I will ask for one that covers all Thrifty Foods stores.  Note that we won't get insurance certificates till September because Scouts Canada's policy renewal date is September 1.

Beth Sangara (5th Tsartlip) will be assisting with coordination this year-thank you Beth!!

Have a great summer!
