- Appointed a Member of the Order of Canada in 2000;
- Joined Fasken Martineau DuMoulin in 2001 until he retired in 2006;
- Serves as a member of the Environmental Appeal Board, a Commissioner of the Forest Appeals Commission and Vice-Chair of the Oil & Gas Appeal Tribunal of B.C.
- Served as a director of Pacific Western Airlines, Canada Tungsten Mining Corp.,
- Northwestel Inc., BHP Billiton Diamonds Inc., BHP Billiton World Exploration Inc. and currently Alexco Resource Corp.

Camp Barnard Updates
- Cascadia Council provided staff for 2 very successful weeks of summer adventure camps – a program which will grow in future years.
- With the support of community donations and volunteer labour, metal roofing was installed on 24 sleeping cabins, the boathouse, 2 shelters and
a barn. - Site preparations are underway for PJ 2015 – expansion of campsites, upgrades to water supply, road and other infrastructure improvements.
- Fundraising remains critical to camp operations, 50% of operating costs come from camp fees, the balance from member fundraisers and community support.
