The following procedures are a guideline for Scouting and other groups who wish to have a camping experience at Camp Barnard.

  1. Identify available camping dates and campsites on the "Site Availability" page in the left menu.
  2. Complete the registration form that is available on the website, at the Scout Shop or from Camp Barnard. This form should then be sent by FAX (250-642-1312) or e-mail c_barnard@shaw.ca or mailed to Camp Barnard, attention Registrar at the above address. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis according to the time of receipt of the completed registration form by the Registrar.
  3. To acknowledge your registration, a registration number will be assigned by the Registrar. A deposit should be sent or dropped off at Scout House, 505 Marigold, Victoria, V8Z 4R5 no later than two weeks after this acknowledgment.  Your deposit is required to confirm your booking. All cheques must be made out to Scouts Canada – Camp Barnard and the registration number must be shown on the cheque. Deposit amounts are as follows:
    • Tenting sites:$20.00 and $40.00 (non-Scouting groups)
    • Lodges:$50.00 and $100.00 (non-Scouting groups)
    • Cabin Circle (includes half kitchen):$50.00 and $100.00 (non-Scouting groups)
  4. A final confirmation will be sent to the group contact person.
  5. The group should then show up at camp at the stated time and the contact person should check-in with the Camp Ranger. The Camp Ranger will confirm the number of persons in the group, the names and phone numbers of contact persons and first-aider. This is also the time to book other facilities with the Camp Ranger including the amphitheatre, waterfront, canoes, chapel etc.
  6. At close of camp, Camp Ranger will inspect site used accompanied by contact person. Damage and clean-up needs will be noted. Please observe NO TRACE practices when using Camp Barnard.
  7. After camping is complete, a final invoice will be sent to the person named in the registration form. This invoice will include the daily camping fee canoe and archery rentals less the deposit. Any damage done at camp will also be billed at this time.
    • Daily camping fees for all Victoria Scout groups are:
      • Front-country tenting: $3.25 per person per night
      • Back-country tenting: $2.75 per person per night
      • Weekend use of  Lodges (min 20 persons): $10.00 per person
      • Weekend use of cabins with kitchen (min 15): $10.00 per person
      • Canoe or kayak rental: $2.50 per hour or $10.00 per day
      • Day Use: $1.75 per person per day
    PLEASE NOTE: Small groups may be asked to share a circle or the lodges.
    • Daily camping fees for Guide groups and Scouting groups from outside Greater Victoria.
      • Front-country tenting: $4.25 per person per night
      • Back-country tenting: $3.25 per person per night
      • Weekend use of  Lodges (min 20 persons): $15.00 per person
      • Weekend use of cabins with kitchen (min 15): $15.00 per person
      • Canoe or kayak rental: $2.50 per hour or $10.00 per day
      • Day Use: $1.75 per person per day
    • Daily camping fees for other groups are:
      • Front-country tenting: $6.25 per person per night
      • Back-country tenting: $5.25 per person per night
      • Weekend use of  Lodges (min 20 persons): $20.00 per person
      • Weekend use of cabins with kitchen (min 15): $20.00 per person
      • Canoe or kayak rental: $3.00 per hour or $12.00 per day
      • Day Use: $2.00 per person per day
  8. Final payment should be sent to Scout House, 505 Marigold Road, Victoria, BC, V8Z 4R5 within two weeks of the date of the final invoice. All payments must be made by CHEQUE payable to: “Scouts Canada – Camp Barnard" - no exceptions please.
