30th Baden-Powell Guild

The 30th Canadian Baden Powell Guild was inaugurated in September 2004 for the purpose of managing the operation and maintenance of Scout House - Victoria. Operating the facility on a cost-neutral basis and improving the condition of the building are the primary goals of the 30th BP Guild.

Membership in the 30th Canadian Baden Powell Guild costs $20.00 annually. All Scouters, former Scouters and any other interested volunteers are welcome to join. Contact the Guild Master for more information.

Victoria Foundation Grant

The 30th Victoria BP Guild (the volunteer group that manages Marigold Scout House) is very pleased to announce that the Victoria Foundation has approved a grant of $7000 from their Community Fund and an additional $300 from an anonymous donor towards replacing the existing siding on Scout House. Through various fundraisers as well as building rentals, the guild is able to commit $12000 to the project at this time. We hope to put a fresh face on the building in time for Scouting's 100th Anniversary. A huge thank-you to the Victoria Foundation for making this possible!

As members of Scouting in Greater Victoria, YOU help the Guild in many ways: holding sleepovers at Scout House, parking cars at the Saanich Fair, shopping at Scout Shop- it all helps to retain this centre for Scouting in Greater Victoria.

If you have time or resources to lend to the building makeover this summer, please contact the Guild's building committee: George Clark - 598 9756, John Laidlaw - 592 8538, or Jim Legh - 658 0220.
