2nd BADEN-POWELL GUILD, VICTORIA, B.C

The 2nd BP Guild was chartered by the Canadian Council of B-P Guilds on July 26, 1977.

The Aims of the Guild are to keep alive the Spirit of the Scout Promise and Law, to actively support the Scouting and Guiding Programs in the local community and Canada and adhere to the Principles of the International Fellowship.

The 2nd BP Guilds purpose is different than the the 30th Guild whose members are charged with the operation of Scout House in the Greater Victoria Area.. The 2nd is in fact, a gathering of “Old Time Scouters? and supporters who meet socially as well as supporting local Scouting activities through financial or physical support depending on the activities.

As the members are mostly in the Senior Citizen category they are limited in what physical activities can be handled. They usually are involved in the ware house operation of the Popcorn Drive, Camp Barnard Cleanup Day and now have taken on the continuing operation of the Gone Home Memorial Board at Camp Barnard. Financial donations are made to Scouting as finances permit.

The Guild is looking for new members as the existing members are getting older and “younger blood? is needed. Anyone who would like to remain involved in the Scouting community, but wishes a minimum of activities are invited to join. Our dues, at present, are $25.00 per year which covers the cost of the International and Canadian dues and leaves the Guild with a little in the bank to support donations and activities. You do not have to be a “Retired Scouter? to join. Spouses, friends, etc. are welcome..
