Welcome to Scouting in Greater Victoria Area (GVA).
Our Volunteers provide programs that serve more than 2,000 youth and adult members in Sooke, the Westshore communities, the core municipalities and the Saanich peninsula. Beaver Scouts, Wolf Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venturer Scouts, Rover Scouts and Scouting Leaders all enjoy the Fun and Challenge of the largest youth program in the world, right here in our own backyard.
Find out more about the people, the programs and the ideas that make us go. Use the menu on the left to navigate through the site.
Thanks for visiting.

I would like to give a little shout out as well to the team who ran Fort Selkirk (the stretcher town). Normally we have a compass course there but the team to run it was unavailable and on Friday night we put together the last minute team of Jason, Brad and Emily (one of our Comox Venturer Volunteers) to run this town. It sounded like it was a success.
We have learned that we need to account for the rain better. Thinking caps are now on to sort out a more secure way to record scores. On that note, it is fair to say that some teams may not have the exactly correct score. We tried to be generous, but the reality is that given the wet conditions, it was a forensic nightmare to calculate some of the scores and errors most likely occurred. However as they say, the judges’ decision is final and this year the 2014 winners were:
First 3rd Douglas 328.5
Second 12th Garry Oak Sea Scouts 315
Third 1st Comox Scouts 313.5
The John Fraser Memorial Award for the “best” overall Klondike Cart in the competition:
First 14th/9th Juan de Fuca
Second 14th Juan de Fuca Venturers
Third 3rd Douglas
